Using Pull Sources Action in Instrument Work Queue

What is a source pull?

A source pull is an action that is completed during a lab assignment/test. When performing a source pull, the user is grabbing specific data to apply to a particular cylinder within a test.

Depending on the method, a source pull can describe a pull for final results or a cylinder cert; however, the “Pull Sources” button will always refer to a cylinder cert pull.

How do I go about pulling a source?

On the TLIMS home, navigate to Instrument Work Queue (by selecting Analysts > Instrument Work Queue). Select a lab assignment to open in the instrument workload. A “Work Step” dialogue will appear, select OK. Within the lab assignment select a Test ID to pull a source for.

Navigating to Pull Sources

In the Pull Source dialogue, select the source you would like to include, then complete the dialogue by selecting okay, if you have not chosen any sources and wish to quit select cancel. You cannot select OK unless you have added a source.

To add a new cylinder source, select “Sources” on the top ribbon of the “Pull Sources” Dialogue. Once selected, Cylinder Source Manager will appear as a new dialogue. In the Cylinder Source Manager, cylinder source material can be added and removed.

Adding or Removing Source Material in Cylinder Manager

To remove a source, select the remove button and select yes in the deletion dialogue box.

Deleting a Chem Code

To add a source material directly to the lab assignment, select add cylinder source > sources. The Assign Material Reference dialogue box will have the option to drop down the component section to select a component and add it to your lab assignment.

Adding a Component to a Lab Assignment

When finished, select OK and you will return to your Pull Cylinder Cert dialogue. Here you should see all of your selections. Use the checkbox next to each item to choose desired sources and then complete the dialogue box. Now, all of your sources should be compiled into your lab assignment for use.
